Areas of Expertise
Infertility
Infertility is an area I have a particular interest in, both personally and professionally. My MSc research explored the lived experience of infertility and I continue to develop my knowledge through research, reading and ongoing professional development. I am particularly interested in how infertility can affect identity, relationships and attachment and the complex emotions that can accompany trying to conceive and fertility treatment.
Depression & Anxiety
I have extensive experience supporting people experiencing depression and anxiety, from feeling overwhelmed or stuck to living with a diagnosed mental health condition. My approach explores not only current symptoms, but what may sit beneath them such as attachment patterns, past experiences and core beliefs. Together, we can develop a deeper understanding of where these feelings come from and explore ways of moving forward.
Domestic Abuse
Alongside my private practice, I work part-time as a counsellor for Pathway Project, a specialist domestic abuse service. This has given me extensive experience supporting people affected by domestic abuse and working with the complexities of trauma, attachment, self-esteem, boundaries and relationships. My approach is trauma-informed, offering a safe and non-judgemental space to process your experiences and reconnect with yourself.
My Approach
I have been counselling since 2023, working with a variety of areas.
I have completed the MSc in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy, which is a British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) accredited course, from the University of Derby.
I hold a student membership of the BACP, ensuring I provide therapy to the highest ethical and professional standards. Your safety, wellbeing and autonomy will be my priority at all times.
My approach is integrative, which means I draw on different types of therapy depending on you and what you need. I work mainly with Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Attachment Theory. Together, we might explore your attachment style, how earlier relationships have shaped the way you connect with others, and the core beliefs you hold about yourself, other people and the world. We can also look at patterns in your thoughts, feelings and behaviours that may be keeping you stuck. At the heart of my approach is a warm, non-judgemental relationship where you can explore these things at your own pace.
