Grounding & Coping Strategies
As part of my integrative approach, I can incorporate grounding and coping techniques into our sessions, including guided breathing, mindfulness exercises and body scans.
These techniques can help you reconnect with the present moment, regulate difficult emotions and feel more grounded, particularly after exploring painful experiences or memories. They can also provide practical tools to use outside of our sessions.

Guided Breathing
I offer guided breathing techniques, including natural, unpaced deep breathing, four-second box breathing and alternate nostril breathing. These exercises can help calm the nervous system, reduce feelings of anxiety and encourage a greater sense of relaxation and control.
Guided Visualisation
I offer guided visualisation exercises, including happy place, safe place and ideal self imagery. These techniques can help you develop a sense of calm and emotional safety, strengthen self-compassion and explore your personal goals and aspirations.

Mindful Moments
I offer guided grounding exercises that use the five senses to help you reconnect with the present moment. We might focus on objects around you, sounds in the room or other sensory experiences that feel comfortable. These techniques can help manage overwhelming emotions, reduce anxiety and encourage a greater sense of calm.
Body Scans
I can guide you through body scan exercises to help you become more aware of physical sensations, recognise areas of tension and encourage relaxation. We can explore the whole body or focus on specific areas, depending on what feels comfortable and helpful for you.
